Born in Cebu city Philippines to a Cornish father and Filipino mother. I moved to Cornwall at the age of 10 to be with my father. To say I had a culinary culture shock is an understatement! I really missed my Asian flavors as back then, Cornwall didn't have what it has now, variety. Being here for 36 years, my palate has evolved from predominantly Asian to loving food from all over the world and have fully embraced my Cornish side, but my palate will always gravitate to Asian flavors.
After living in Bristol for 24 years of my adult life, I returned to Cornwall 3 years ago. I worked as a private chef and still do, but I felt I needed to do more. Last July, I decided to open an Asian fusion cafe in Wadebridge as wanted to share my cuisine to the Cornish community. Filipino food is generally overlooked and because of this I wanted to blend both my heritages together, Filipino/ Asian flavors cooked authentically with a modern twist and using the finest Cornish produce.
Opened in July 2023, we are committed to serving delicious food, creating a vibrant atmosphere, good music, supporting our community and building relationships with our customers. We always aim to put people first and ensure our produce is locally sourced from award winning and ethical butchers Primrose Herd as animal welfare is very important to us, freshly caught seafood and sourced from Newlyn fish market. Our menu changes often and seasonally. We have a summer offering of Filipino sharing beach boxes for grab and go options and to enjoy on platters in the cafe.
